"Errr, Jean-Luc - are you sure that blue shirt is yours?"

I played quite a few jams this time. This game undoubtedly made me ponder my decisions the most. In the end it was all my choice, though. I still feel bad. ^^

Great game. You managed to pack so many interesting puzzles into these rooms. This is definitely not easy. Got stuck a couple of times. For the last puzzle I had to resort to trial and error. This would probably benefit from some signposting. My favourite puzzle was the one with the states. That was a good one. Funny too.

A save option would be really nice. If you pick up the game again after the jam, you might want to consider that. It is a long and quite challenging game after all. The walking speed could also be a bit faster. But that's not a big deal and more personal preference.

The choice of assets and music is great. It definitely adds to the atmosphere. So does the ending. You've managed to create a great escape room. A really entertaining game. Makes you think in more than one way. :)

Yes! I did it! I won!

Where's Formless Object 1? Does it have to do with the bone minigame or something?

apparently itch.io doesn't allow for spoiler text in comments and I'd rather people not be accidentally spoiled

You can try pressing the enter key so many times that the viewer is forced to click "View rest", and tag it with a spoiler warning...

...Like this.

Ah, thank you.

spoilers below

Yes it does, play his game until you take all of his bones.

or put spoilers in ROT13

Stuck at the very end. Got to and bribed the janitor/guard, I have all the formless objects, and I've used all objects except the rug piece, and no idea what to do next. Help?

Also, minor bug report; showing Rufus' owner the collar gives a biscuit each time. Which leads to being able to get the cheese multiple times, and the bronze orb multiple times. Only the first time should give a biscuit.

thanks for the bug report, i'll fix that right now

as for being stuck...yeah, that puzzle's honestly not the best, but you can combine the Rug Piece with something you definitely already have in your inventory :)

unless you have nothing else in your inventory other than the formless objects and the rug piece, in which case that's a bug and i'll look into it

Nope, that was the only unused item in my inventory. I thought I had tried out all pairwise combinations, but I guess not, as I found the one that got me to the ending! Thank you!

But that didn't make use of the formless objects. I assume there's another ending, so, I'll try to find it…

(1 edit)

I tried combining the formless objects (well, formless object #1) with every other object, and tried using it on everything across all the rooms, all to no avail. Any other clue about what I need to do to make use of the objects, or what I should be expecting? Thank you!

One recommendation/request: since there's no save feature, I am doing repeated playthroughs, and the only really annoying point is the bones game. I know the way to always win, but it still takes a while to play through the multiple times. How about speeding it up? E.g., maybe make cut out one round (maybe start with 8 bones, for 3 rounds, and not 25 for 5 rounds? And/or round up from half of 3 to get 2 of the 3 bones, rather than 1 of the three and having another round)

Having all of them when going into the ending cutscene is enough.

(1 edit)

Sorry to butt in, but what's the order in which I need to win the bone game? I won a couple times before, but I forgot. I also keep leaving the Bonemaster with 4 bones, making losing inevitable.

I'm stuck on the password mentioned in the yellow note. What is it? I tried wyapen, wyapn, and yoapn, but none of those worked. (Doesn't help that the green state, New York is 7 letters, yet the note says to include the middle 2 letters.)

Also expected the gold orb to fall down after the Miner orc character got angry and shook the building.

The gold orb requires a ladder. The ladder needs not only a hammer and nails, but multiple piles of wood.

One shake doesn't do anything; multiple shakes will loosen something.

The password requires one additional set of information, which you can find on the bookshelf. "Don't forget to remove the blue's middle" didn't really make sense, but I just made the word I got from the clues up to then into the closest proper English word and that was the password. (The note does say, "is that even right?")

(1 edit) (+1)

Got the first and third advice, but I don't really get the second. How many times do I have to make the orc angry, and is it related to the secret wall in the sacrifice room?

Never mind, I figured it out!

Really fun game, lots of clever combinations, and I like the design of the game and the vibe! Only complaint is that not everything is obvious and you might get stuck for a while trying to figure out some puzzles. Still a 9.9/10 game jam game!
